Your Lore

Your Lore is a personal context document — a curated description of who you are, what you work on, and how you like to work with AI. It's the thing that makes every AI conversation feel like picking up where you left off.

What it contains

A Lore is structured around several sections, typically including:

  • Who I Am — your background, role, and identity
  • My Work — current projects, responsibilities, team context
  • My Goals — what you're working toward right now
  • How I Like to Work with AI — communication preferences, response style
  • My Voice — how you write, your tone and style
  • Context AI Should Always Know — location, tools, recurring details
  • How I Make Decisions — speed vs. quality, when to ask vs. act

The exact structure is flexible. Your Lore is plain Markdown — you can organize it however you want.

Creating your Lore

The fastest way to create a Lore is the Lore Builder wizard. It asks a series of plain-English questions and assembles a complete Lore document from your answers in under 15 minutes. No AI jargon, no technical setup.

You can also write your Lore from scratch in the Lore Haven desktop client or on the dashboard.

How it's delivered to AI

With the desktop client connected: Your Lore loads automatically at the start of every conversation in Claude Desktop. You don't do anything — it's just there.

Without the client: Copy your Lore from the dashboard and paste it at the start of any AI conversation. Works with Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini — any tool.

Keeping your Lore effective

  • Keep it concise. AI reads the full document each session. 300–600 words is the sweet spot.
  • Update it when things change. New project, new role, new preferences — update your Lore.
  • Remove stale information. Outdated context is worse than no context.
  • Review it periodically. A quick review every few months keeps it sharp.

Where it's stored

  • Locally: ~/LoreHaven/lore/lore.md (if you have the desktop client)
  • Cloud: Synced to your Lore Haven account automatically after every save

Your Lore is always yours. You can export it, edit the raw file, or move it anywhere.

Version history

Every save creates a new version. You can view and restore previous versions from the Lore tab in the desktop client. Nothing is ever lost.
